To put it quite plainly his company did a superior job with both projects surpassing our expectations. Darren ensured that we were consistently “in the picture” in all stages and explained building options in such a way that we could make informed decisions on direction and changes as the need arose.
Upon project completion, Darren and his crew did a total clean up and removal of all debris, ensured the grounds were clean and most importantly, left our grounds in the same (actually better) condition that they were found in.
I recommend Darren and his company without reservation, the work ethic and customer service that they provided was second to none. In fact the service was so good we are already booking dates for home renovation this fall!

This letter is to provide reference for Darren Sweet. Mr. Darren Sweet and his crew were hired to do a complete landscaping job in my yard including the construction of a 73′ long retaining wall, paving stone patio & fire pit, walkways and a deck with oval stone steps up to the house.
The construction was started on schedule and progressed without interruption to be completed on schedule. I was very impressed with quality of the work and the work ethic of the crew. The job was done properly and completed without shortcuts. The estimates were accurate to the penny. Darren provided some excellent input into a creative design and provided suggestions to design to budget. Minor add-ons (at my request) after the work had begun were accepted without complaint and priced fairly.

I want to say that I was and am very impressed with the professionalism and workmanship of Darren and his crew.
For starters Darren promised to do my job on a certain date, kept in touch by phone and kept his scheduled date. That is rare in this industry of trades who are overbooked during the summer months and it was great that I didn’t have to chase him down.
The job was done uninterrupted, on time and kept within the quote. Darren gave me some good ideas and did an excellent job with my backyard patio and front yard rock garden. A few weeks after when I had a little area of water accumulation, nothing to do with his work, Darren came by promptly and advised me on how to easily fix it.

Over two years ago we bought an older home in Thorsby. Our sidewalks were in bad shape, crumbled and tilting dangerously. Last fall we hired Darren and his crew to replace the walkway and steps with brick. Mr. Sweet quickly removed the old blocks, setting them in the backyard for us. He broke up the old cement steps, which was a difficult job, and hauled away the debris. Then he efficiently laid out a new walk and steps, which greatly improved the look of our yard, and made snow pushing much easier. The job was done neatly and quickly and we have had many compliments on it.

We met Darren at the Home & Garden Show in Edmonton last year. We were instantly impressed by the workmanship demonstrated at his exhibit. Dave explained to Darren that we were experiencing drainage problems due to the poor workmanship of our new home. Darren came out to our house numerous times and gave us great advice on what he could do to solve all of our drainage issues. He informed us that paving stone was quite costly but assured us it would be worth every penny spent once they completed the job (he was right).
When Darren and his crew began construction we found them to be very professional and highly experienced in their trade. We have been dealing with trades people for well over 2 years now and can honestly say that Darren and his crew were by far the most reliable and hardworking individuals that we have ever had the pleasure to encounter not to mention the great workmanship they displayed. Darren was also able to stick to the original quote, we added an extra flower bed and window well to this project and found Darren’s price to be very reasonable for that work as well.
Overall, Dave & I would highly recommend Darren and his crew to anyone who is looking for quality workmanship in their home or workplace. “Hats off” to Darren and his crew, we look forward to seeing you next year as we have already made plans for our 2008 project!

Our company owns several rental properties in Edmonton and surrounding area. That is where we have worked with Darren. He was very professional.
